Having the Midas Touch isn't all you thought it would be. Sure everything you own is now made of solid gold, including your goldfish and the fish bowl. But you can't touch anything without changing it. Putting on a pair of gloves is not possible, they turn from cloth into solid at the slightest touch of your fingers. Having to use the washroom is a real problem!
How do you ask the nice fairy to take away the Midas Touch, but let you keep the gold you have so far? After all, now that it's here you might as well spend it. (Too bad about Great Aunt Geraldine).

Maybe you could ask that the "touch" be transferred to your toes. I mean, you don't actually have to touch things with your toes all that often (except shoes) and I guess it would be OK to go around in gold shoes.
